Before you book any drone operator

  • Ask which CAA rules the job falls under. Spraying, drones over 25 kg and some flights over people or property need a Part 102 certificate.
  • For spraying, ask about the pilot’s chemical and agricultural ratings, the product and water rate, and how drift will be managed.
  • Check they hold public liability insurance.
  • Get the price, any minimum charge, weather-day terms and what you’ll receive in writing.
